The Boulder Creek Recreation and Park District has hired Boulder Creek resident Hallie Greene as its district manager.
Greene, a 2001 San Lorenzo Valley High School graduate, was chosen from a pool of a dozen applicants to succeed Christina Horvat, who resigned in June.
According to a statement from the district, Greene received a Bachelor of Arts degree in film production from Emerson College in 2005. She then worked as a production manager for 1171 Production Group in Los Angeles and New York.
She returned to the San Lorenzo Valley in 2007, where she worked as a photographer and filmmaker, dance instructor, Web and graphic designer and events planner.
Greene has taught jazzercise and dance classes at Boulder Creek Recreation Hall for several years. She managed classes and publicity for the district following Horvat’s resignation.
The district will host two concerts at Junction Park from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 3 and 4, a Saturday and Sunday. Take 1 will play Saturday and The Coffis Brothers on Sunday. Greene will be on hand to meet residents.
