Faith Jane McDougal, 57, of Boulder Creek, has been sentenced to three years in prison for trying to conceal her husband’s sexual abuse of her preteen granddaughter.
McDougal had pleaded guilty in July to felony child endangerment and witness intimidation in connection with the sexual molestation of a minor, according to the district attorney’s office.
Her husband, Ronald Eugene McDougal, 53, is serving 17 years in state prison for the long-term abuse and intimidation of his stepgranddaughter, who was 11 years old when the abuse started.
The girl, who recently turned 13, now lives with relatives out of state and is in counseling. She and her three siblings were in the McDougals’ care because their father is dead and their mother is incarcerated.
The other three children also have moved to live with relatives elsewhere.
An investigation began last winter after the girl told a teacher about the sexual abuse. The McDougals were arrested in early January and pleaded guilty to the crimes in July.
