Men’s soccer
Joel Pelton scored four goals and Matheus Barbosa scored two to lead the Bethany men’s soccer team to a
6-2 win against Simpson University in Redding on Oct. 12.
The men’s team had a 4-2 record in the California Pacific Conference, 6-4 overall, good for third place with five games left in conference play.
The Bruins played against Holy Names University at Merritt College on Wednesday evening, Oct. 20, followed by another game at Holy Names on Saturday, Oct. 23, and a home game against Menlo at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26.
Women’s soccer
The team fell 5-0 to Simpson on Oct. 12.
After the loss, the Bruins were in fifth place out of six teams and had lost their past four games. Four conference games remain before playoffs.
Their next game will be against first-place Holy Names at Merritt College in Oakland on Saturday, followed by a home stand against Menlo at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Skypark.
Volleyball
The volleyball team beat a team of Bethany alumni volleyball players in four games in the annual match, then played a conference match against Mills and won in three games.
The team was fourth out of seven teams in the Cal Pac with four matches remaining. The top five teams will move on to playoffs after conference play ends on Nov. 6.
Bethany will visit Holy Names on Friday, Oct. 22, and host Menlo at 7 p.m. Saturday. On Thursday, Oct. 28, Bethany will play at Pacific Union College at 7 p.m.
Cross country
The cross country team traveled to the Bronco Invitational at Santa Clara University, where they competed against local colleges Oct. 16.
Next weekend, the team will participate in Pre-Conference Time Trials on Oct. 29 before competing in the Cal Pac Conference Championship meet Nov. 5.
