Men’s soccer
Bethany University’s men’s soccer team had a 2-1 win over Simpson University on Nov. 6, with goals from John Ballisty and Joel Pelton.
Bethany will have a make-up game against Pacific Union at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, to finish the season.
The team finished in fourth place with a 7-4 record in conference, 8-6 overall, wrapping up one of the Bruins’ most successful seasons.
Women’s soccer
The women’s soccer team fell 2-1 to Simpson on Nov. 6, the only goal from senior Amanda Anderson.
The team finished fifth in the Cal Pac with a 2-8 record.
Volleyball
The Lady Bruins defeated Simpson in three games Nov. 5 before losing to U.C. Santa Cruz in four games Nov. 6.
The Bruins qualified for the single-elimination Cal Pac tournament and, as the third seed, fell to fourth-seeded Menlo in three games on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the Redwood Auditorium.
The season is over for the Bruins, who finished 7-5 in conference, 14-12 overall.
Cross country
The cross country team attended the Cal Pac Conference Championships at Mills College in Oakland on Nov. 5.
Freshman Wayne Smith and Brad Arkens finished in the top 10 and will move on to the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 20.
Men’s basketball
The men’s basketball team traveled to Southern California last week, where it lost to Hope International University, 67-51, and Cal Baptist University, 67-50. The team then lost at home to The Masters College, 88-63, on Nov. 6.
The team will play at Sacramento State on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and then take part in the Midland Empire Insurance Classic in Oregon on Nov. 19 and 20, when they will face Oregon Institute of Technology and Southern Oregon.
Conference play begins in January.
Women’s basketball
An 83-59 loss to Biola on Nov. 5 was followed by a loss to San Diego Christian College 77-63 on Nov. 6.
The team will travel to the Masters College on Friday and then go to Westmont College on Saturday, Nov.13.
Conference play begins Jan. 6.
