Open farm day at Bonny Doon farm
The Shumei Santa Cruz Farm will host an admission-free community event between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at 6040 Bonny Doon Road in Santa Cruz.
The event will feature guest speakers and cooking demonstrations by members of Bauman College, a holistic nutrition and culinary arts school.
Other activities will include taiko drummers, marimba players, farm tours, booths from local vendors, a shakuhachi Japanese flute performance and a lunch option made from vegetables grown at the farm.

Spa, yoga center collaborate in Felton
On Saturday, Sept. 3, Melissa Stone of Balance Studio Spa will be offering a new Yoga on the Ball class for beginners at Earth Yoga in Felton.
The cost of attending the class is a donation. Attendees should take a mat and yoga ball. The studio is located at 6245-A Highway 9.
