Bank, chamber to celebrate school library
Bay Federal Credit Union will sponsor a mixer in conjunction with the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce at the new San Lorenzo Valley High School library.
The mixer will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the library, 7105 Highway 9, in Felton.
Participants will celebrate the community’s efforts to build the new library, completed last year, after the original library was destroyed in a 2006 arson blaze.
Food and beverages from Mill Street Catering and Coffee 9 will be provided, with  a raffle and live jazz music. Cost is $5 for chamber members and $7 for prospective members.
New executive for Zero Motorcycles
Scotts Valley-based Zero Motorcycles recently announced that it had named Richard Walker as chief executive officer.
Walker joins Zero with more than 30 years of business experience, including executive stints with Hewlett Packard and Control4.
“The entire board is delighted that Richard is taking the helm of the Zero Motorcycles executive team,” said Philippe Amouyal, a board member.
Walker said he hoped to share a passion for innovation, exceptional customer experience and operating discipline with the people of Zero.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to join a dynamic team and help lead a new and innovative company to higher levels of performance and success,” Walker said. “My goal is to ensure that Zero Motorcycles continues to grow and lead the electric motorcycle industry through product innovation and sound management, while never losing sight of our goal to build a better motorcycle for our customers to enjoy.”
