A memorial service will be Sunday, Oct. 28, to remember Felton native Carrie Marie Dianda McCoid, who died of an undetermined viral infection. She was 37.
Mrs. McCoid was born in Santa Cruz and raised in Felton.
She attended San Lorenzo Valley elementary, junior high and high schools and graduated with her associate degree from Cabrillo College.
Mrs. McCoid coached cheerleading and taught dance classes for more than 15 years in the community. She became owner of Steps Dance Studio in Watsonville two years ago. Earlier, she worked as a real estate agent with Bailey Properties in Aptos. She was also one of the founders of the Hot Rods at the Beach car show in Santa Cruz, which has awarded many scholarships to industrial arts students in the county.
Mrs. McCoid is survived by her stepson, Jakob McCoid, and daughter, Maryella McCoid; parents, Bill and Carolyn Dianda of Redding; sister, Gina Dianda Bahten, and her husband, Shawn Bahten, of Redding; father-in-law, Rick McCoid of La Selva Beach; mother-in-law, Gerri McCoid of Soquel; two nieces; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Josh McCoid, on March 18. They were married for 10 years.
Services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Twin Lakes Church, 2701 Cabrillo College Drive, in Aptos.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a trust fund for Mrs. McCoid’s children, the Carrie McCoid estate account, at any branch of Bay Federal Credit Union.
