Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley:

Turkeys with all the trimmings were prepared and served to members Nov. 13 for the annual member appreciation dinner.
Members are making preparations for several upcoming community holiday events. The first is a dinner toy and canned food drive Friday, Dec. 3, to benefit Valley Churches United Missions. The JD’s Famous Tamale and “Ladies of 545” Flan sale to benefit Familia Center will follow Dec. 12, and preparation and delivery of food for a holiday party held by the MHCAN will be Dec. 18.

Scotts Valley Rotary:
Last week, several Scotts Valley Rotarians traveled to Guatemala to meet with administrators and doctors of two hospitals that serve the poor Mayan population. Rotarians were there to evaluate the hospital’s need for medical equipment and other supplies, and a large group of Rotarians from several clubs will return in February to deliver the needed equipment.
The club has decorated a holiday tree with gift certificates and fun gadgets worth more than $650. The tree stands in the lobby of Bay Federal Credit Union. Anyone could win the tree by buying a raffle ticket at the bank. All proceeds will benefit Valley Churches United Missions
