SLV Rotary Club
At the San Lorenzo Valley High Awards Night on Wednesday, May 25, the club awarded two $1,000 scholarships. The club will have an entry in the Felton Remembers Parade on Saturday, May 28.
Speakers scheduled for the June meetings: June 1, Dr. Kerry Kriger, a frog expert; June 8, Jim Coffis, SLV blogger; June 15, Lisa Robinson of SLV Museum; June 22, Antonio Del Bonta from Kid Power; June 29, Sam Storey of Community Bridges.
The club meets at 7:15 a.m. Wednesdays in Birch Dining Room on Conference Drive at Mount Hermon Conference Center. Cost is $10.
Scotts Valley Exchange Club
The club is in the midst of organizing the annual bocce tournament between the four service clubs of Scotts Valley. The club will also barbecue for Music at Skypark on July 31.
Exchange club meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Scotts Valley Senior Center. The public is welcome and encouraged to come. Beverages and appetizers will be served.
Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley
Kiwanis will award the $2,500 Mike Smith Scholarship to Nathan Wood and the $1,000 Grabill Scholarship to Laura Isaacson, both seniors at San Lorenzo Valley High.
In preparation for Music at Skypark 2011, the club will close the sponsor sign-up period Tuesday, May 31. At this point, sponsors have pledged $9,500, with another $2,500 pending. Sponsorship is an opportunity to support the civic and school community while promoting local business. For information: 438-4506.
Kiwanis meets at the Hilton Santa Cruz-Scotts Valley, 6001 La Madrona Drive. The second Wednesday of the month (June 8) is a dinner meeting ($20). All other Wednesdays, the group meets for breakfast at 7 a.m. ($1 plus individual tabs).

Scotts Valley Rotary
Scotts Valley Rotarians will host their annual Bids for Kids Dinner, Dance and Auction on June 3 at the Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Road. This year’s theme is a 1950s-style Sock Hop. The fun begins at 6 p.m., and attendees are invited to wear poodle skirts and saddle shoes. Proceeds will fund community projects and help with the medical expenses of Kendra Kannegaard, a local high school student. Tickets will be available at the door.
