Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley
The club kicked off its annual Music at Skypark summer concert series on June 30 and then provided carnival games and its mobile stage at Scotts Valley’s July 4 fireworks show.
The next Music at Skypark concert is July 28 and will feature Hipshake and Harpin’ Jonny and the Primadons. Proceeds benefit the music program in Scotts Valley schools.  Kiwanis will also provide the mobile stage for use at the Chamber of Commerce Art and Wine festival the weekend of August 10 and 11. The club meets at 7 a.m. each Wednesday at Bruno’s BBQ, 230-G Mount Hermon Road in Scotts Valley. An evening meeting will be held the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Bruno’s. All are welcome.
 
Exchange Club of Scotts Valley
The club seeks participants and sponsors for its annual golf tournament fundraiser that will take place at 8 a.m. Sept. 20 at Valley Gardens Golf Course. Cost is $45 including a continental breakfast and barbecue lunch with the Mike Pasquini barbecue team.
Exchange donates funds raised to prevention of child abuse and community improvement projects. The public is encouraged to attend meetings and the club seeks new members who would like to serve in the community.
The Exchange Club meets the second Wednesday of each month for lunch at noon at Mint, 4652 Scotts Valley Drive and the fourth Wednesday of each month at the public library, 251 Kings Village Road from at 5:30 to 7 p.m. for an informative meeting with community relevant guest speakers. Scotts Valley Lions
On July 4 Scotts Valley Lions members placed American flags at the Graham Hill Road cemetery. On July 6 members painted the Assisted Living Project home in Scotts Valley. The home cares primarily for individuals with brain injuries. July 20 is Adopt-a-Highway Clean Up day and July 28 members will help at a Backpacks for Kids stuffing in San Jose. Meetings are held at the Scotts Valley Senior Center on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and on the fourth Tuesday at 7 a.m.
 
San Lorenzo Valley Rotary
The club welcomed two new members July 1 who transferred from their Rotary Club in Florida.
The last weekend in July and the first weekend of August, members will donate their time for Day Out With Thomas at Roaring Camp Railroads.  The club sponsored three students from San Lorenzo Valley High School to attend the RYLA camp at Mission Springs from August 4 through 9.
In August, the club will meet four times: August 7 with Dr. Kerry Kriger from Save the Frogs at Felton Presbyterian Church, 6090 Highway 9 in Felton; August 14 with Marie Cubillas from Big Brothers Big Sisters; a new teacher breakfast at the SLV School District Office, 325 Marion Avenue in Ben Lomond (No Wednesday meeting); and on August 28 with Danny Keith from Grind Out Hunger.
The club meets on Wednesdays at 7:15 a.m. in Birch Dining Room, 37 Conference Drive at Mount Hermon Conference Center. Cost is $10.
 
Scotts Valley Rotary Club
Our out-going club president Cheryl Rebottaro survived a special dinner and off key singing of songs written especially for her. Her last act as president was to induct new member Steve Maurer. The new club president is Carrie Birkhofer, the president and CEO of Bay Federal Credit Union.
The club is sponsoring a new Boy Scout New Venture group. The club will also volunteer by barbecuing and serving lunch at the Festival of the Book at Harvey West Park which rewards children who participated in the area libraries summer reading program. The club is also starting a huge sustainability project about plastics and the environment that will involve 60 other Rotary Clubs in California and Hawaii.
