Scotts Valley Community Day leaders Gina Johnson and Lori Gentile are looking for volunteers to help with 2011 Community Day in Scotts Valley, slated for Sept. 10.
Community Day, a day when local businesses pledge to donate part of their proceeds to Scotts Valley’s public schools, will be in conjunction with a city of Scotts Valley’s e-waste recycling event and the first citywide garage sale.
Leaders and volunteers are needed to help with marketing and public relations, newspaper writing, a garage sale and bake sale coordinator, Web site help, writing thank-you letters to businesses and groups, a liason between each of the four schools, phone call help and a card that can be used for special offers throughout the year.
Community Day was started in 2010 by Johnson and Gentile as a way to raise support in the community for Scotts Valley’s schools.
For more information, contact Johnson, gi**********@*******al.net, or Gentile, lo********@***oo.com.
