As wildfire season approaches, residents of Corralitos and surrounding areas are invited to attend a free, hands-on community event focused on wildfire safety and neighborhood resilience.
The Corralitos Wildfire Resiliency Fair will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 4-6pm at the Corralitos Community Center, located at 35 Browns Valley Road.
Hosted by the Fire Safe Council of Santa Cruz County, this event brings together wildfire experts and community partners to provide local residents with practical tools and strategies to better protect homes and neighborhoods from wildfire risks.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Hear directly from Cal Fire, Firewise USA community leaders, and United Policyholders
- Meet local home ignition zone (HIZ) assessors for personalized tips
- Learn about fire-resilient landscaping, creating defensible space, and emergency preparedness
- Connect with representatives from CERT, the Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County, and other key agencies
“This fair is about empowering residents with real, actionable steps to reduce their risk,” said Lauren Moody, program coordinator. “It’s an important time to come together, ask questions, and take local action before the next fire strikes.”
The event is open to the public, family-friendly and completely free. No registration is required.
