Nearly 200 classic cars, including contingents of DeLoreans and Studebakers, will be on display Saturday, July 18, at Siltanen Park in Scotts Valley for the annual Cops ’n’ Rodders car show and cruise.
Bruce Canepa, owner of Canepa Motorsports Museum of Scotts Valley, will exhibit cars from his museum.
The first 150 preregistered autos will leave the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk at 8 a.m. to cruise through Capitola to the park for the show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Organizer Mark Lopez, a Scotts Valley police sergeant, said about 160 cars are preregistered, and another 20 or so are expected to appear on the day of the show.
Cars will be judged for first- and second-place awards in 30 divisions. There also will be safety exhibits, police-dog demonstrations, an emergency services helicopter, the Scotts Valley SWAT truck, snacks and a barbecue lunch catered by Scotts Valley Market.
The show has been presented for 16 years by the Scotts Valley Peace Officers Association to raise money for school and youth programs.
