The Santa Cruz County Fair will open its gates on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at noon to commence the six-day extravaganza.
An opening ceremony will take place at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday — among the first day highlights include the annual Apple Pie Baking Contest at noon put on by the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau, a free ice cream social for seniors from 12:20 to 3:30 p.m. put on by Rabobank, All-Alaskan racing pigs at 4 p.m. and carnival rides that open at 6 p.m.
Headlining the evening entertainment is Divas of the Decades, a female duo, at 7:30 p.m. on the main stage. The fair will close at 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Admission for seniors is $4 on Tuesday during Senior Day.
The Fair takes place at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, 2601 East Lake Avenue in Watsonville.

Tuesday – Noon to 10 p.m.
Wednesday through Friday – Noon to 11 p.m.
Saturday – 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
General admission throughout the fair is $8 in advance or $10 at the door for adults, $4 in advance or $5 at the door for children 6 to 12-years-old and $5 for seniors in advance and $6 at the door.
