Santa Cruz native Curt Griffiths died in Chico at the age of 48. The cause of his death is unknown.
Mr. Griffiths graduated from California State University, Chico, with a degree in chemistry. He became a project manager for an environmental clean-up company.
Family members said Mr. Griffiths loved animals and volunteered at the local Humane Society. He loved to play basketball, golf, football, baseball and bowling, as well as deep-sea fish. Family said he was a loving father and had the ability to bring fun to any situation.
He is survived by his son, Zack Griffiths of Chico; parents, Ray and Lani Griffiths of Felton; sisters Alyson Griffiths of Oroville and Shannon Wilson and her husband, Doug, of Aptos; and nephew David de la Luz of Chico.
