Spotlight: Discover ‘The Missing Arm of William Waddell’
Experience the haunted tale of Big Basin’s last lumber mill owner, William Waddell, and his fateful encounter with a grizzly bear during a walk Saturday, Oct. 24, at Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
Celebrate the forest in autumn with this spooky and slightly silly half-mile theatrical guided walk through the redwoods at night. Ranger apples cooked around the campfire will round out the festive family event.
Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. for tours that leave every 10 minutes. Parking is $10 per vehicle. The trail is stroller- and wheelchair-accessible. Those who go should take a flashlight.
