Family members will privately scatter the ashes of Dave Millet, who died in Ben Lomond from complications of cancer. He was 62.
Mr. Millet was born in San Jose as one of five children of Jeanne Millet-Kring and August “Gus” Millet. He had lived in Boulder Creek the past 30 years.
Mr. Millet was a house painter by trade and recently retired. He loved the San Francisco Giants and country music and liked to argue his conservative politics with his liberal family, especially with brother and best friend Jim Millet.
Family said that more than anything, Mr. Millet loved his grandchildren which he brout to Santa Cruz during school breaks to enjoy his cabin in the mountains, the Beach Boardwalk, shopping trips and pizza. He was known as a genuinely kind and good person who will be deeply missed.
Mr. Millet was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law Doug Virostko.
He is survived by his daughter, Rochelle Valenzuela of Ripon; four siblings, Richard Millet, and his wife, Carol, of Topanga Canyon, Jim Millet, and his wife, Rose, of Ben Lomond, Stephen Millet of Sacramento and Nancy Virostko of Santa Cruz; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no memorial service for Mr. Millet. The family will scatter his ashes at a later date.
