A new reporter has joined the Press Banner staff, David Leland, of Scotts Valley.Editor Barry Holtzclaw announced that Leland will be a general assignment reporter, with special emphasis on Scotts Valley and business reporting.
After a career as a jazz drummer in the Bay Area, Leland earned a degree in journalism at San Jose State, and worked as an award-winning community newspaper reporter in Carmel, a marketing writer for Seagate Technology in Scotts Valley and a small business marketing consultant.
