A private celebration was held in June for San Lorenzo Valley High School graduate David Lucero died last month in San Jose. He was 37.
Mr. Lucero was born in San Jose and moved to Santa Cruz in 1983. He graduated from SLV High School in 1994.
Mr. Lucero was passionate about sports, loved music and family, but and family said his greatest joy was his son Gabriel.
Family said Mr. Lucero was a fun-loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson and Father. He was always the life of the party and brought joy to all those around him. Although his life was cut short, his undying love for his family, his amazing smile and endless loving energy will carry on in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his son Gabriel , his parents Steve and Delia Caraway of Ben Lomond, David Lucero Sr. of Salinas; his siblings, Cecelia Lucero of San Diego, Matthew Caraway of Anchorage, AK, Nick Lucero of San Joe and the mother of his child, Charise Thompson Muller of San Jose; his grandparents and a niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to Gabriel’s educational fund. Cashier checks or money orders made out to Gabriel Lucero can be mailed to c/o Solar Jobs USA, P.O Box 67426, Scotts Valley, CA 95067 or deposited directly by name into Chase Bank or Bay Federal Credit Union.
