Services will be Saturday for former San Lorenzo Valley resident George K. Frye, 71, who died in Clovis of pancreatic cancer after a brief illness.
Mr. Frye was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Herbert and Opal Frye. A longtime San Lorenzo Valley resident before his retirement in 2004, Mr. Frye worked for Varian Associates in Palo Alto as a material planner for 29 years.
He loved to square dance, and he and his wife were members of the Traveling Pioneers and the Steppers and Stompers. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family.
Mr. Frye is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joann Frye; sons, Kenneth Frye of Ben Lomond, Jeffery Frye, and his wife, Nicole, of Monterey, Keith Frye of Santa Clara and Kevin Frye of Clovis; a sister, Margie Eberhardt of Washington; two grandchildren; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by another sister, Ruth Bell.
A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Ave., in Clovis.
