A 20-year-old motorcyclist was injured when a an SUV driven by a 46-year-old Ben Lomond woman hit the cycle at 6:30 p.m. on Highway 9 near Brackney Road in Ben Lomond. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
A 14-year-old Scotts Valley boy was injured when a pickup driven by a 55-year-old Brookdale man hit him as he walked on the shoulder of Highway 9 about 12:30 p.m. in Ben Lomond. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Investigators reported closing their probe of a June 16 fire at the Bethany University cafeteria. They determined that the blaze started in a kitchen area undergoing renovation and was accidental in nature. Possible sources of the fire were plumbing soldering and electrical work being done during the day, they said.

July 6
Alcohol was shoplifted from a store on the 6200 block of Graham Hill Road in Felton at 12:10 a.m. An SUV seen leaving the parking lot on Mt. Hermon Road was spotted a short time later, and a juvenile passenger was cited.
A 32-year-old man was arrested for a probation violation at Highway 9 and Brookside Drive in Boulder Creek for being under the influence of methamphetamine.
July 5
Four men were arguing at a motel on the 9700 block of Highway 9 in Ben Lomond at 1:37 p.m. The argument was stopped, and no one was arrested.
A locked vehicle was forced open around midnight and several items were taken on the 400 block of River Road in Felton.
A man entered a home on the 100 block of Felton Empire Road in Felton at 2:39 a.m. and was punched by the occupants. After being treated at a hospital for his injuries, the alleged burglar was cited.
Someone entered a house on the 12800 block of Irwin Way in Boulder Creek through a sliding glass door at 1 p.m. and stole a laptop.
A man was found at 3:20 p.m. inside an apartment from which had been evicted on the 100 block of Crossbow Way in Ben Lomond.

Someone stole a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle on the 500 block of Manzanita Drive in Felton at 4 p.m.
July 3
Someone was reported to have entered a locked cabin on the 100 block of Panther Ridge Road in Boulder Creek at noon for the fifth time in two months.
Two cords of firewood were reported at 6:57 p.m. to have been taken from in front of a house on the 13600 block of Big Basin Way in Boulder Creek.
July 2
Someone broke into the schoolhouse on the 12000 block of Alba Road in Ben Lomond at 3 p.m. and stole a computer, printer and bicycle.
July 1
Someone stole an MP3 player from an unlocked vehicle at 6 p.m. on the 7000 block of McAdams Lane in Felton.
A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after he refused to leave the pool at the high school on the 8700 block of Highway 9 in Felton.
June 30
A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana, which was found during a traffic stop at Glen Arbor Road and Riverside Drive in Ben Lomond.
Several people hit a man several times with a metal object and kicked him on the ground, then fled from an inn on the 11500 block of Highway 9 in Brookdale.
Someone entered a house on the 200 block of East Grove Street in Boulder Creek and stole things.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at 10:34 p.m. on the 100 block of Whispering Pines Drive.
June 30
A 44-year-old man was cited at 6:28 p.m. for battery following an altercation with another man after a traffic accident at Highway 17 and Mt. Hermon Road.
An 18-year-old man who was stopped for a seat belt violation at 2:38 p.m. was cited to appear in court for an outstanding arrest warrant.
A 20-year-old man was cited for driving with a suspended license after his vehicle was stopped for a faulty brake light.
An unlocked $300 bicycle was stolen from in front of a house on the 400 block of Whispering Pines Drive at about 3:30 p.m.
June 29
Several items were taken from a vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Quein Sabe Drive.
Tools valued at $2,650 were stolen from a locked work truck at about 4 p.m. on the 200 block of Sherman Drive.
Graffiti was discovered on a utility box on the 200 block of Mt. Hermon Road.
Vandalism was reported at 7 a.m. involving smashed items, overturned picnic tables and a hole in a door at the elementary school on the 100 block of Vine Hill School Road.
