**Deputies went to an inn on the 11000 block of Highway 9 in Brookdale at 3:26 p.m. after a caller reported that an intoxicated woman had refused to leave. The woman was arrested when she reportedly kicked an officer in the shin repeatedly while being escorted from the premises.
Dec. 30
**A man was reported missing due to health reasons on the 900 block of Lakeside Road in Felton at 10:15 a.m. The man was found unharmed in Felton two hours later.
n When deputies stopped a vehicle that was missing a front license plate on East Zayante Road at midnight, they found that the driver had no identification or proof of insurance.

**A home on the 8200 block of Fremont Avenue in Ben Lomond was reported to have been burgled at 3 a.m.

Jan. 3
**A man was taken into custody on the 5400 block of Scotts Valley Drive when officers found him walking intoxicated along the road in front of a gas station at 1:22 a.m.
Jan. 1
**A 19-year-old man was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol after officers found him standing in front of a closed business on the 5400 block of Scotts Valley Drive at 2:05 a.m. He was released at the scene.
Dec. 31
**During a parole search at 4:34 p.m. on the 100 block of Mount Hermon Road, a 25-year-old man tested positive for drugs and was found to be in possession of gang-related clothing, both violations of his parole terms.
Dec. 30
**A 26-year-old man was arrested at 10:43 a.m. on the 200 block of Mount Hermon Road on suspicion of forging prescriptions, illegally possessing a controlled substance, obstructing an officer, committing a probation violation and trying to dissuade a victim.
Dec. 27
**Officers went to an address in southern Scotts Valley at 9:45 p.m. after reports of a woman crying and yelling for help. A 20-year-old man was arrested after a woman with visible injuries to her face and arms told officers he’d hit her after reading her text messages.
**A 20-year-old man was arrested and issued a citation after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had had stolen her stuff. The items were recovered.

Jan. 3
**A 1992 BMW 325i driven by Adam Schooner, 28, of Santa Cruz, spun across the median at the Laurel Curve on southbound Highway 17 and was struck on the driver’s side by an oncoming 2000 GMC Sierra driven by Barry Prentiss, 55, of Scotts Valley, at 7:17 a.m. Schooner, who was badly injured, was flown by helicopter to Valley Medical Center in Santa Clara. Prentiss had minor injuries.

**Between 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve and 6 a.m. New Year’s Day, CHP officers reported 15 cases of people driving under the influence in Santa Cruz County. Two were in the Scotts Valley-San Lorenzo Valley area, both on Highway 17.
