Nicholas Yeager, 29, was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to drunken driving and killing Monte Poston in a car accident on East Zayante Road in November 2008. Poston’s wife, Michelle, survived the crash with injuries.

Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 hang up at 10:24 p.m. on the 400 block of High Street in Brookdale. When they arrived, a man threatened the deputies to leave or be subject to an attack with an ax.

Two bags of barbecue briquettes were reported stolen from the Junction Park barbecue area at 11:59 a.m. on the 13200 block of Middleton Avenue in Boulder Creek.

Someone threw an egg at a woman’s window, breaking the glass, at 3:13 a.m. on the 200 block of Hilton Drive in Boulder Creek.
During a traffic stop, a man with a suspended license did not slow down and eventually crashed into a tree at 11:13 p.m. on the 5900 block of Highway 9 in Felton.
June 16
A rock was hurled through the back window of a man’s vehicle at 12:01 a.m. on the 13700 block of Bear Creek Road in Boulder Creek.
During a traffic stop at 11:17 p.m. on the corner of Cooper and Blair streets in Felton, a driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant. A duffle bag with two liquid bottles of steroids and two hypodermic needles was found in the car’s hatchback area.

Someone smashed two windows of a vehicle at 7 p.m. on the 6900 block of Highway 9 in Felton.
The window of a woman’s vehicle was smashed at 9:30 p.m. on the 10600 block of East Zayante Road in Felton.
June 12
Someone broke into a woman’s car at 10:30 p.m. on the 11400 block of Alta Vista Road in Brookdale and stole two sweatshirts and some change and rifled through the glove box.
June 8
About $2,150 worth of personal items were stolen from a man’s home at 8:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Scenic Way in Ben Lomond.
Six ceramic flower pots and plants were stolen from a dental office on the 13200 block of Big Basin Way in Boulder Creek at 6 p.m.
The front windows of a man’s home on the 700 block of Blue Ridge Drive in Boulder Creek were shattered when someone shot pellets through them at 10:08 a.m.

A woman reported that her sliding glass door was broken at 4:19 p.m. on the 400 block of Huckleberry Lane in Boulder Creek.

A 25-year-old man threw a drinking glass at his former roommate, causing a cut to the person’s face that required sutures. The alleged attacker was booked into county jail, and a restraining order was issued against him.
June 18
A strong odor of marijuana was coming from a vehicle in which a 34-year-old man was sleeping at 1:43 a.m. on the 1500 block of Bean Creek Road. The man admitted to having marijuana and was given a citation.

Someone entered a clothing boutique on the 5100 block of Scotts Valley Drive at 6 p.m. and stole $100 from the cash register.
June 16
Someone threw rocks at a 53-year-old woman’s vehicle, breaking a passenger window at 12:30 a.m. on the 400 block of Lockewood Lane.
June 15
A marijuana cigarette and a Ziploc baggy containing marijuana were discovered in a 28-year-old man’s vehicle during a traffic stop on the 100 block of Highway 17 in Scotts Valley.
