Two people were stabbed near Covered Bridge Park in Felton and flown to out of county trauma centers yesterday, authorities said.
The victims were airlifted by helicopters near Henry Cowell State Park.
Detectives believe the victims to be men, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said Monday afternoon.
A neighboring business said they heard the stabbing may have been a drug deal gone bad with teenagers involved. The Sheriff’s Office is keeping mum on the names ages and genders of those involved.
“We feel this is a very serious case and are devoting the entire investigations bureau to solving this crime,” Sgt. Todd Liberty of the Sheriff’s Office said. “At this point we’re working on identifying the parties involved.”
The violence took place around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6 and the Sheriff’s Office have been working through the night into today trying to determine who is responsible for the double stabbing, Liberty said.
In the last two days police have contacted multiple witnesses, Liberty said.
