Save Our Shores will provide shoppers with free reusable shopping bags in the San Lorenzo Valley on Wednesday.
The bags will be given away beginning at noon on Wednesday, March 20 at Safeway in Felton and at Ben Lomond Market  on March 20.
The bag giveaway launches the next phase of Santa Cruz County’s plastic bag ban ordinance that takes effect March 20. Paper bags at grocery stores in Santa Cruz County will increase from 10 cents to 25 cents each. The reusable bags are provided by the county. Each person will receive one bag while supplies last.
