Talitha (Tai) Stills and husband and wife duo Jeri Green Oneto and Bruce Oneto will be honored for their longtime volunteer service with 2013 Hammer-Marcum Awards.
The Oneto’s, according to award organizers, represent the award’s neighbors-helping-neighbors ideal and the importance of involvement and support of local non-profit organizations.
Stills will be awarded for her work educating community residents and businesses to promote environmental protection and her work honoring musicians, as well as her dedication to nonprofit organizations.
The Valley Women’s Club created the award in 1987 to honor Mary Hammer and Annette Marcum who represent the ideal of long-term volunteer commitment.
Forty three others have been awarded Hammer-Marcum awards since its inception.
Anyone in the community is invited to attend the award celebration, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 at Highlands Park Senior Center, 8500 Highway 9 in Ben Lomond. The desert event includes jazz music from pianist Ben Anjo, presentations and a champagne toast. Government representatives Assemblyman Mark Stone and 5th District Supervisor plan to attend to present the awards.
Free childcare is available; please indicate you will need it when you RSVP.
Organizers ask that those who wish to attend RSVP by email to nb**@cr****.com, call Nancy Macy at 338-6578. Cost is $12 and can be mailed to Valley Women’s Club, PO Box 574, Ben Lomond, CA 95005.
