Highway 9 grading to cause detours, delays this week

Highway 9 will undergo a paving and grinding operation scheduled to last three nights beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1. It will affect drivers in Ben Lomond, Brookdale and Boulder Creek, according to California Department of Transportation. 
The operation will run from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, starting in Ben Lomond. Highway 9 will be inaccessible on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from Upper Glen Arbor Road. Love Creek and Fillmore streets on northbound Highway 9 will be closed and traffic will be detoured to Main Street, then to Mill Street, where traffic will diverge to Highway 9.
Construction will continue on Wednesday Oct. 2, in Brookdale where drivers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
The final night of construction will be Thursday, Oct. 3, and will affect the travelling public of Boulder Creek. Lomond and Forest streets will be closed on northbound Highway 9 and traffic will be detoured to Middleton Avenue.
Additionally, Lomond and Forest streets, along with Highway 236 will be closed on southbound Highway 9 and traffic will be detoured to Lorenzo Avenue. Delays of up to 20 minutes can be expected in this area.
The California Highway Patrol will be on hand to assist with directing traffic and enforcing parking restrictions.
