John “Jack” Ralph Hutchison, Jr.

John “Jack” Ralph Hutchison, Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Soquel on October 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving wife, Alice Elizabeth, and four of his children. He was 96 years old.
Jack was born in Oakland, California, to John Ralph Hutchison and Grace Ethel (Sturges-Hinton) Hutchison on December 14, 1918.
Jack owned several automobile dealerships during his lifetime. He led a very active life, and was able to travel extensively and pursue his hobbies after retirement. While in his fifties, he learned to fly single and twin-engine airplanes, eventually gaining his commercial pilot’s license. He took great pleasure flying with family members and friends throughout the western states, Canada, and Mexico.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Meredith Nicoles and Eleanor Trevor, and stepson Daniel Dickinson (Esmeralda). Jack is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Elizabeth, his children Kitty Stevenson, John Hutchison (Kate), Michael Hutchison (Greta), Patricia Hutchison-Christie (Jason), Meredith Hutchison, Heather Hutchison (Larry), June Hutchison Neumann, and Mark Hutchison (Jessica); step children Denise Housego, (Kit) and Dawn Dickinson (Alex); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
