EDITOR,
This Fourth of July weekend reminded me why I enjoy Boulder Creek as much as I do. Our town was bursting with community spirit at Boulder Creek Fire Department’s pancake breakfast, which had people lined up for a block for several hours. True Value Hardware store owners Anne Marie and Doug Konrad hosted Lumberjack Days, reminiscent of Boulder Creek’s roots. The Boulder Creek Parks and Recreation District capped the fun with a truly old-time barbecue in the newly restored Junction Park. This was the most amazing Fourth of July parade I remember since I was 5 years old, thanks to Wayne Williams’ hard work and that of the Boulder Creek Business Association. All of this was enjoyed by the people, parents, kids and grandparents, who lined the streets of Boulder Creek watching the floats, dancers, cheerleaders and old cars parade by, celebrating the real meaning of America. It makes me proud to be a part of this community.
