EDITOR,
On Sept. 24, during a beautiful Scotts Valley afternoon, a SUV went too fast down our country road and hit and killed our little 6-year-old Chihuahua, Tex.
We live at a fork in a very quiet road. Our house is the only house on our side of the fork, and there a few houses on the other side. We know that the person who hit Tex was aware of the incident because of the way the dog was positioned on the side of the road.
We are angry, sad and confused. Angry because Tex was a great little guy who was just sitting on his driveway. Sad because he was such a huge part of our lives. And, lastly, confused, because how could someone hit a defenseless little dog and not even try to help?
There are kids, other dogs (big and small), and cats, and we worry that there is always a chance that it can happen again.
Please slow down. Please be careful. Please don’t make anyone else this angry, this sad, and this confused.
You know who you are. We know who you are. You killed our dog. Please slow down.
