EDITOR,
We started up the Redwood Mountain Faire after a 16-year hiatus with the intent of reviving an event for the younger generation (30 to 40) to take over, make it their own, and continue supporting the community and local nonprofits. I often heard from the “kids” about how they missed the Faire. It was with delight that we welcomed several younger people to the steering committee, who, with their energy and determination, made the Faire a joy to volunteer for.
Eric Hammer joined our committee and was very active in the planning and execution of the Faire. All I had to do was look at him, ask for whatever I needed, and it was done. He came Friday to set up, stayed all weekend, came back Monday to clean up. I am so very impressed with his “can-do” attitude, and think it’s about time we send people like him to our government offices, where they can bring new ideas and fresh energy to the same old issues.
