EDITOR,
What is our county’s thought process? We just had a major windstorm, trees down, power and phone service out, and so on. It’s as close to being an emergency as we can get.
A redwood branch through our skylight and deck, debris everywhere, and I’m sure, for some, even worse damage. I get to the Ben Lomond Transfer Station and there is a line out past the entry gate. Some folks turned around or, worse, dumped their stuff on the side of the road. Over half of the vehicles had tree and brushwood waste, obviously due to the windstorm. Caltrans was also waiting in line. Wouldn’t their time be better spent clearing more roads, and who’s paying for their wasted time? Everyone was in line to pay fees. We are the taxpayers, and we will eventually pay the cost. Waive the fees for a few days, let people get things back to normal. What is our county government thinking?
I will hate to see how they don’t react when we need them.
