EDITOR,
I have known Eric Hammer for many years and known of his many years of hard work in our community before becoming acquainted with him. I worked for the YMCA Camp Campbell when the teen center was first opened by the director of Camp Campbell. He and many others worked tirelessly to get it up and running and keep it that way. Then a new executive for the YMCA decided it wasn’t profitable (I believe the Y is a nonprofit) and we were told to close the teen center. Up stepped Eric Hammer, who made sure it did not close and kept it running for as long as he could. Eric has worked tirelessly on that, the Boulder Creek Art & Wine Festival, serving on the Board of Directors of Boulder Creek Recreation, Mountain Community Resource Center and many, many additional boards and committees. Eric has been instrumental in getting things done in our community.
He was born and raised in the San Lorenzo Valley and is from a family that has worked and still works to keep our community safe, a good place for the kids to be and all the other things it takes to keep a good community running smoothly. Eric is a great family man who has never said no when asked to help with any task. I feel Eric would do a great job as our next 5th District supervisor and urge everyone to attend the local forums and ask your questions and voice your concerns. Please be sure to vote and take a friend with you.
