EDITOR,
Several weeks ago, I was involved in a car accident in which a woman ran a red light and crashed into my car as I was crossing Mount Hermon Road at a four-way intersection at Kings Village Road. Both cars spun out of control and landed in the middle of Mount Hermon Road. (The crash sound still haunts me!)
The bright spot of this ordeal, for me, was a wonderful woman, Laurie from Ben Lomond, who came forward to be the lone witness. If she didn’t take the time and effort to park her car, cross the street and talk to police, this matter might well have been in “dispute” as to who was at fault.
Of the many people who witnessed this accident, she was the only one who came forward.
This made me realize the absolute importance for any one of us to step up and take the time to stop, if we indeed have clearly witnessed an accident and can give a reliable report. Not to “assume” someone else will do it or, worse yet, not to care enough to stop and offer help. Thank you again, Laurie!
