EDITOR,
Wow, there’s praising going on in Boulder Creek! (“Boulder Creek praised in Sunset Magazine,” Page 3, Feb. 3)
I like the “absurd” part, although when I looked up the actual definition (preposterous, ridiculous), I had been thinking more like “unconventional” or “eclectic.” We have a great mix of community here, and I agree with Paul Nanna’s remark: “Considering the populace, we’re all pretty absurd.” I think that contributes to the open-minded attitude we have in living here and sharing this lifestyle.
Rural: living in the country, rustic. Every day, I see the incredible beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains. I feel so lucky to be able to live here. I appreciate the absurdness and the challenges of being rural. I’m inspired by my fellow 4,081, or so, mountain dwellers.
I’m a little sad we have been “discovered,” though. With that discovery will come change. Not all change is good. Still, hallelujah Boulder Creek! Hallelujah!
