EDITOR,
It seems quite obvious why the Boulder Creek Art and Wine festival has continued to fail; the local newspaper (Press-Banner) has yet to actually get even the date of the event correct in any of its articles about it. Not to mention the fact that you rarely seem to actually write anything nice about the event.
For a news organization that purports to be covering the “San Lorenzo Valley,” perhaps the Press-Banner writers and editor should spend a bit more time in said valley so they can get their facts correct regarding issues of Boulder Creek. Knowing the difference between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend might also be a good start.
We will miss the art and wine festival if it indeed fails to return this May. Perhaps the Boulder Creek Business Association or some other local group will come to their senses and realize that this single-event weekend is a good thing for the town.
Perhaps we can start a “lumberjack days” type of event that centers around our logging heritage, combined with the art and wine aspect might help offset the costs of running such an event?
