EDITOR,
It is exciting how supportive our community is of recycling and our local SLV Redemption-Recycling Centers, operated as a community service by the Valley Women¹s Club. From residents recycling everything they can, to every SLV market and liquor store cashing our beverage container refund scrip, the community helps assure the success of the centers.
Of special note is the assistance that Ladd’s Towing has regularly provided to the Felton Center. When the drop boxes (used to hold bottles, papers, cans or cardboard) are not placed properly inside the Felton Center by the trucking company, Ladd’s Towing comes to the rescue, maneuvering the enormous metal boxes into place with their trucks. The limited space in Felton makes the correct placement of these boxes crucial to safe operations, as Felton Site Manager Ben Bond, explains: “We’d be in a very hazardous situation without Ladd’s help.”
This is why it is important to support local businesses. They do so much more than provide a service or things to buy; they care about our community and show it in many unadvertised ways.
