Letter: Sheriff endorses candidate

EDITOR,
Now more than ever, due to dramatically declining budgets and dwindling resources for public safety agencies such as the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, our community needs elected officials with the experience and knowledge to get us back on track. As sheriff, I am endorsing Bruce McPherson for 5th District supervisor. I have worked with Bruce for many years, and I know that he has the experience and knowledge to help the sheriff’s office fulfill our mission. Bruce’s experience and dedication will help create an environment where we can work collaboratively to find creative solutions to our most challenging issues. Bruce is a true friend of community policing and local law enforcement. He is serious about supporting the entire community and helping police, deputy sheriffs and firefighters do the best job possible. I encourage everyone to join me in supporting Bruce McPherson for 5th District supervisor.
