Letter: Take tests seriously

EDITOR,
I’m writing to voice my support for the S.T.A.R. testing that is taking place at Scotts Valley High School next week.
As a student at the high school, I believe it is important that all students participate and take the tests seriously. Some individual college applications ask for Academic Performance Index scores. In addition, students who perform well on the S.T.A.R. tests have the opportunity to waive some college placement tests. S.T.A.R. testing is also one way students have a voice in driving high school instruction in the classrooms.
I encourage all students at Scotts Valley High School to be present every day of testing and to take the tests seriously — for our own good!
