EDITOR,
I come from a generation that has always believed in recycling before recycling was cool. I believe rather than filling children’s minds with the “horrors” of plastic bags, maybe teaching a bit more about taking personal responsibility for themselves would be more helpful.
Perhaps parents and teachers alike should encourage them to come up with constructive ideas such as how to store water when it rains and also do more to prepare them better for taking care of themselves when they are out in the outside world on their own.
I believe, as apparently the mayor also believes, the people of Scotts Valley are mostly people who do take personal responsibility and should not have to pay the price for those who don’t.
Scotts Valley, to me, is a beam of sanity in the entire county and I’m proud to be a resident.
