To the editor:
The Redwood Mountain Faire was a great success, with 5,000 people coming over the weekend to enjoy beautiful weather listening to diverse bands, purchasing fine arts and crafts, participating in extensive children’s activities, watching various entertainments, and consuming the great food and beverages. The feelings of happiness and community were pervasive. Everyone is eager to learn the financial details, especially how much the 19 local non-profit, community and school groups will be receiving from the proceeds. However it usually takes about a month to gather all the financial information, pay all the bills, and determine the proceeds.
An example of the large attendance is the number of items left behind. Four cell phones were found and three have been returned to their owners already, but a couple high-tech portable chairs were left behind along with 5 hats, three pairs of shoes (including Minnie Mouse!), a fabric cooler, a beautiful wooden necklace, a black flute, a walkie-talkie and much more. To inquire about the items, please call Nancy at 345-1555.
Many thanks to all who volunteered and thus contributed to the amazing success of this year’s Faire; over 350 people did so, making it possible for the Faire to be a real community event in every way.
