Editor,
I live in Lompico, and support John Schneider and Merrie Schaller for Lompico Water Board because they are the only two candidates who support a merger with SLV Water District.
My interest in Lompico is not in politics, but in what is the most practical choice for our community to assure the long-term security and care of our water supply.
We in Lompico have come to accept crisis-management of our water system as normal operations for decades, but it hasn’t been a good strategy. Merger is a good choice to change that mode and better manage our water into the future.
Those opposed to change have some good ideas, but I’m not convinced their overall strategy assures stability nor saves the community money in the long-term.
We’ve had good discussions for four years and I think it is time for the community to move ahead.
Schneider and Schaller are well-informed and up-to-date on conditions in Lompico water, and I urge others to be the same by visiting the LCWD Citizens Advisory website at http://tinyurl.com/Lompico.
Please vote for John Schneider and Merrie Schaller for Lompico Water Board — our best choice for change.
Debra Loewen,
Lompico
