Letter: Try walking in her shoes

Well, it’s no wonder that those conservative right-wing men want to control abortion rights. After all, not one of them has ever become pregnant as a result of rape. We women know a different reality. Picture this: Your teenage daughter is stranded by the roadside at night because your car malfunctioned. Along comes this nice guy to help her. But what he does to her instead is unspeakable. Two months later, she learns she is pregnant; plus, she contracted the papillomavirus and risks death from cervical cancer. What will you do now, Dad? Glad there is no Planned Parenthood clinic near you? No sympathetic doctor in town? So I tell you this, brother: If you cannot walk a mile in my shoes, stay out of my moral realm. It is very different from yours!
As for me, I’ll triple my donation to Planned Parenthood.
