EDITOR,
Remember the story about the ant and the grasshopper? Where the ant worked hard all summer, while the grasshopper danced and played the fiddle? Then, when winter came, the ant had lots of food, but the grasshopper was cold and hungry. The moral of the story was that if you worked hard, you would get the rewards, and if not, you got nothing.
Well, nowadays some people see it differently. They see it as, “Why doesn’t that mean old ant share some of his food with that poor, starving grasshopper? He’s cold and hungry, and that ant has more food than he can eat.” The ant is made out to be the bad guy, and they all vote to take some of the ant’s food and give it to the grasshopper. Only nowadays they call it “tax the rich,” a sugar-coated term for stealing.
