EDITOR,
I recently read an article about the discovery of dead animals found in the former Round Up Pet Center in Scotts Valley (“Dead animals discovered in vacant pet shop,” Page 3, April 2). I was personally shocked and disgusted with the former store, which I used to go to with excitement when I was a little kid.
It is horrific that the former owners could not take full responsibility of what they once had. Whether the animals were left behind alive or dead makes no difference. They were abandoned. There should be no excuse for abandonment of innocent life forms the way they did.
I can only hope our community is shocked by the former owner’s careless actions and disrespect.
