Letters: Fire departments get nothing from tax

EDITOR,
County Measure N, supposedly, is for a new tax to prevent cuts to my fire department. The proceeds will be placed in the county general fund. Zayante, Boulder Creek, Ben Lomond and Felton fire departments will get no money from this tax. I am voting no.

n Editor’s note: Measure N is an additional transient occupancy tax of 1.5 percent, charged to those staying in lodgings in unincorporated Santa Cruz County,  [mel1] whose proceeds would go into the Santa Cruz County general fund.
