Residents call for new restaurants
Thank you to Terry Monohan for writing a long overdue letter (“Restaurants Missing in Scotts Valley,” May 23) addressing the need for one or two more restaurants in Scotts Valley.
Some of you may remember Hooked on Fish at Camp Evers corner. The place was always packed and is missed by many of us longtime residents. We also miss Mama Mia in Felton, which had the best pizza and Italian food around.
Let’s hope someone somewhere sees our letters and comes to the rescue of the vacancy at the former Cosa Nostra site and fulfills the need for either a seafood or Italian restaurant or cafe.

Working together for a safer community
I have been reading the articles about the Felton Fire Protection District and I am saddened that our community cannot find a way to work together for the common good of all.
I depended on the assistance of the fire department while being a caregiver to my aging parents. I always wrote appreciative letters in the past because the department always responded promptly and with great kindness.
Now I am the one who is disabled and I need that help myself. Add to that the increased dangers of forest fires and our mutual need is even greater.
I am counting on all involved to deal with each other respectfully with the best interests of the community they are serving in mind.
