Longtime SLV resident supports Bradford for county supervisor

Christopher Bradford has my vote in our upcoming election for Fifth District county supervisor.

My family roots are in the San Lorenzo Valley, since 1958. Like redwood trees, my roots are planted in and receive strength from our community of neighbors and friends, athletics, local schools, faith-based groups, nonprofit youth programs, libraries, volunteer fire departments, area businesses and more.

I like to think that my immediate family who grew up in the “Valley” like me, received innumerable life lessons and opportunities to share their talents in making our community stronger.

The first time I personally met Christopher was at a local gym. My workout routine is well defined, takes just under an hour to perform, and rotates among a specific set of machines and weights. When I moved into the next planned effort, someone else was occupying that machine, and taking a brief rest between sets. He saw me standing there waiting, smiled, and said “Let’s share the machine.” Yes! He is such a positive problem solver, I immediately developed a strong appreciation for his sensitivity and creativity.

Since that first chance encounter, I’ve continued to be impressed by Christopher’s engaging passion in pursuing local government transparency, more support for victims of recent wildfires, improved community resiliency to forest fires, thinking out-of-the box for homeowners insurance policies, improved safety for pedestrians and cyclists along Highway 9, and advocacy for strengthening public infrastructure.

In my view, Christopher Bradford best represents my concerns on how our community can benefit from a more supportive Santa Cruz County government. Please join me in voting for Christopher Bradford, for Fifth District SC County Supervisor in the upcoming November election.

Bradford brings leadership and resilience to Fifth District

Dear Editor, I am writing in support of the election of Christopher Bradford as County Supervisor for the Fifth District of Santa Cruz County.

Mr. Bradford is a family man, a business owner and a software technical expert. He is well educated and well spoken. He is logical and smart. He has a background in IT and AI work, teaching classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, operating drones, aerial photography and complex web design.

He cares about all the residents of the Fifth District and the County. Mr. Bradford and his wife supervised the rebuilding of their family home, which was lost to the CZU Fire. He volunteers with the FireSafe Council.

He cares about the basic issues of living that affect the residents of the Fifth District, such as road maintenance, transit issues, water supply, sewage disposal, taxes and fees, local government administration, community resilience, homeless issues and the County’s budget.

He will be an effective advocate for the residents of the Fifth District.

Support Measure S: Improving emergency response and fire safety

As a longtime resident of Scotts Valley, I have seen the growth over the years and what is planned going forward. The traffic on Scotts Valley Drive near Bean Creek and Mt. Hermon Roads is gridlocked during peak school hours.

Moving the fire station closer to the freeway on/off ramps to afford quicker response times makes sense for just this reason alone. Now factor in the outdated and unsafe facility that houses our first responders, why would you hesitate to support the very ones you call first when you need help?

Vote YES on Measure S.
