Judging for the annual Light up the Valley decorating contest will take place Wednesday, Dec. 19, and Thursday, Dec. 20, in the San Lorenzo Valley, so entries must be submitted before those dates to be judged.
The contest — a fundraiser for Valley Churches United Missions — will be judged by a panel from the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce.
To enter, residents of the San Lorenzo Valley can complete an online entry form at www.slvchamber.org or email contact information to in**@********er.org.
Entrants must also donate cash, canned food or a new gift item to Valley Churches United Mission’s Christmas Project, 9400 Highway 9, in Ben Lomond. The nonprofit office is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The contest has categories for residences, businesses and community organizations.
Decorations may be traditional, animated, humorous, green, over the top, collaborative or anything else the designer can imagine.
Lights must be turned from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday to be judged.
Winners will be announced during a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at The Satellite, 6265 Highway 9, in Felton. Those who will attend should RSVP by calling 222-2120 or emailing in**@********er.org.
