AA Division
Knights 5, Volcanoes 4
The Knights were led by a single and double from both Skyler Hughett and Nico Smith, two singles from Bryce Clark and a double from Kyle Smith. Dominic Papagni-Martinez doubled and tripled for the Volcanoes, while Brendan Hull, Wyatt Brown, Anthony Petrini and Ryan Linn all doubled.
AAA Division
Phillies 8, Braves 7
The Phillies got their final out with the bases loaded to win this seesaw battle. Mathew Simoes had two hits and two RBIs for the Phillies, including a double to the fence, while both Nathan Schaefer and Joe Murray had two hits for the Braves. On the mound, Jasper Stemm struck out five of the six batters he faced for the Phillies, while for the Braves, Tyler Renn recorded all six of his outs on strikeouts, Nathan Schaefer struck out three of four and Garrett Hormel put out five of the seven batters he faced.
Braves 11, Cubs 10
The Cubs got five runs in the first two innings on Philip Garrison’s two-run double and RBI singles from Brody Affolter and Ian Thomas, but the Braves came up with four in the third, capped by Reese Gyllenhammer’s two-run single. They later scored four runs in the sixth to seal the win as Garrett Hormel and Joe Murray each singled home a run and Erik Olson drove in two with a double to right-center.
Majors Division
Giants 9, A’s 3
An eight-run second inning was all the Giants needed. Jack Palmer had a bases-clearing triple; Josh Andersen, Gregory Neiger and Tanner Spence had two singles each; and Ben Acker singled and drove in two runs. Beau Lawrie homered for the A’s.
San Lorenzo Valley Little League
AA Division
Angels 9, Dodgers 5
Clary Brown went 3-for-3, while Reid Olmstead and Charlie Hayes each had two hits for the Angels, who took a 5-2 lead in the first and never looked back. Owen Andrews Andrews had two hits, and Ty Martinez struck out both batters he faced for the Dodgers.
Phillies 11, Red Sox 8
Jack Calden went 4-for-4 and drove in three to pace the Phillies. Jason Schaaf walked and scored twice, and Mason Cada tripled for the Sox.
Majors Division
Indians 8, Live Oak Giants 3
Jack Gentry hit an 0-2 pitch over the left-center field fence to give the Indians the lead in the first inning. Tanner Murray went 3-for-4 and scored three times for the winners.
Indians 7, Phillies 3
Jonah Shabry tossed 5-1/3 innings, striking out five batters for the Indians, with help from Ari Solomon, who turned two double plays, stepping on the bag from shortstop and throwing to first.
D’Shawn Hopkins went 3-for-3 with a triple for the Phillies.
Phillies 7, Live Oak Padres 5
Adam Peters went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI and Matt Robustelli struck out five in three innings on the mound for the Phils. Sam Shubert hit a three-run single in the fourth before the Phillies scored two runs in the sixth for the win.
Red Sox 8, Live Oak Yankees 0
Jared Trader, Nolan Jameson and Jackson Turner combined for a no-hitter by pitching two innings each and striking out 13 Yankees. Keenan Neu went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the offensive charge.
Minors Division
Cardinals 14, Pirates 2
Every Cardinals player reached base, and Max Crandall hit an inside-the-park home run in the third. Cameron Buts stole a base for the Pirates.
Giants 6, Red Sox 4
The Giants scored five runs in the fourth inning to break open a close game with Tommy Andersen, Max Noble, Cody Edgemon, Vernon Frieberg and Remi Dirck all scoring in the rally. Red Sox’s pitcher Mark Carling struck out nine batters in 3-2/3 innings pitched.
Giants 20, Pirates 10
For the Giants, Manny Smith went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three runs to lead the slugfest. Caleb Howe went 3-for-3 and scored for the Pirates.
